Greetings, witchers.

I decided to make a Witcher 3 video today to “celebrate” the launch of the expansion, Hearths of Stone, although this video is not really expansion related nor you will find any spoilers about it inside, rest assured about that.

I wasn’t planning on playing Hearths of Stone from the very first day it came out because I wanted to spend quite a lot of time preparing a good save game on NG+ Death March just to play all the expansions there, but since they separated the expansion package in two, I decided to just buy the first one now and then wait until next year for the other one : P

So for this video I just decided / had to change my build, because I started playing NG+ to reach lvl 60 for the expansion and I noticed my build was not very good, so I adjusted it a bit with more crowd control and focused it a lot more on finishers, by using heavy Rend strikes on mobs I have under Axii control, while at the same time dodging everything else somehow.

So far it’s working, I’m, already lvl 40 (started at 35) and no issues for now, but I’m pretty sure some will arise in the future, and that’s why with the spare skill points I can always unlock other skills that can be useful for more specific encounters down the road.

And I was also browsing forums and all that for builds using heavy strikes and most people always use and abuse Quen, all the time, and I’m not really going to use it like at all on my current build, maybe to start a fight and avoid a “one shot scenario” in case I get distracted but I really hate spamming Quen, like a lot.

So, no Quen, just Yrden and Axii, some other signs here and there if we desire to but the main signs are those two, always keeping in mind this is not a “mage” build with like 300% sign intensity, this is a heavy hitting melee finisher build, very single target oriented, so for AoE situations maybe a couple AoE skills should be added, or just Whirl around like a madman for a while, I guess : P

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy this video and the expansion, if you’re playing it / going to play it, and I’ll see you next time : )
