Fallout 4 Slot Machines snap together on dirt and mesh floors. Please read description. NO MODS
There was some discussion on Skooled Zone's channel about slots not snapping. They snap in my unmodded game. I will be deleting this vid soon.
UPDATE:
It appears most people want me to keep this vid up so I'll leave it.
After reading the comments I spent some time experimenting with the slot machines in about 10 settlements including Vault 88 and here is a summary of my results.
Moz Empire mentioned they only snap on dirt and not on floors. I thought maybe they would snap on other sinkable surfaces so I tried them on a garden plot, the barn/warehouse foundations, and the road at Sanctuary. They would not snap on any of those surfaces. Only on real dirt.
Next I tried most of the floor pieces. THEY WILL SNAP on the see thru mesh floors in the barn, warehouse, and concrete tabs. I was not able to snap them on any other floors (including Vault floors which is a strange oversight by Bethesda). It is possible to remove the mesh floor from under the slots and then snap in your preferred floor so that is one workaround if you need perfectly straight slots on a different type of floor.
There was some mention that different settlements would not allow slots to snap so I tried snapping them at multiple settlements. They seemed to all act exactly the same until I got to Vault 88. I could not get them to snap on the dirt of Vault 88. I tried about 20 different spots. They did still snap on mesh flooring though.
I tried snapping them on a large rug and a flat roof and no luck on either.
Lastly I raised a slot slightly above a wood floor via the pillar and I was able to make them snap so that is another potential workaround.
