FALLOUT 4 Build Scrappy Homemade Looking Neon Letters. NO MODS
40It seems lore friendly to me that our settlers might have to scavenge neon signs together and not all letters would be perfect. It is a lot easier, and usually looks better, if you just pepper some scrappy letters in among the normal letters. I used too many scrappy letters just to show as many examples as possible in this tutorial.

0:11 The inspiration for overlaying the letters came from Draco Invictus. He showed how to change colors and brighten neon letters but not how to combine different letters. Obviously we are limited in which letters overlay each other properly. C+O, C+Q, E+F, P+R, 3+8, etc
Sometimes the letters will stick together so it is best to move them first before storing or scrapping lest you may lose them all.

0:32 Again we are somewhat limited in what letters we can combine (unless we partner this method with other techniques) I showed an F into A but some others include K=R, 7=T, C=G, Y=M etc. The letter to be pillar glitched must be attached to an existing non scrappable surface away from other objects in order for the group select to work.

1:06 There are many ways to cover the letters. Conduit, signs, taxidermy, glitchable items, etc. When using the Lettering in the "Wall Decorations" tab it works best to pillar glitch the neon letter. By pillar glitching you can place it closer to the wall then you can when placing it in build mode. When the neon is placed in build mode the stickers often go behind the neon.

2:20 I don't think there are many options for backwards letters. The only one I can think of is 3=E. However when combined with multiple techniques it opens up many possibilities. You can see a backwards 9 turned into a P in "scrappy"and a backwards B turned into an E in "letters"

3:05 When sinking letters it is a good idea to quicksave first. It is hard to judge the right angle and depth. Actually it is probably good to quicksave before placing any letter with any technique. I lost a whole wall full of letters while preparing this vid when I accidentally stored the wall.
