Though human society advances, another world remains secret from the ignorant muggles: A world of wizards and witches. Unable to coexist peacefully, Wizards established the Ministry of Magic in Britain to enforce the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy, which forbids the enchantment of Muggle property, underage use of magic without a license and other tenets to hide magic's existence from Muggles. A similar authority, The Magical Congress of the United States, was also founded in America after the Salem Witch trials.
In the 1900s, young wizard Newton Artemis Fido Scamander watched his mother raise Hippogriffs and his interest in magical creatures grew. He attended Hogwarts School, but when his creatures endangered other students, he was expelled. Never discouraged, Newt rose through the ranks of the Ministry's Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. His knowledge and enthusiasm led publisher Augustus Worme to commission Newt for a book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".
Now in 1926, join Newt Scamander in New York City. In his travels, he's rescued many creatures, storing them in pocket dimensions in his briefcase, but a clumsy No-Maj (American Muggle) just released them accidentally. Newt will need help to find his creatures, because the Magical Congress wants him arrested and his little breach of Wizarding Secrecy could start a Wizard-No-Maj war.
