Far Cry New Dawn Part 11. Hope for the future. (Tough New Game Blind)
Part Synopsis: Kim informs that the Highwaymen are laying waste to New Eden and warns the end to this conflict is nearing. Fast traveling to the location, Cap is forced to approach from a short distance away. The front area is already decimated. At the Elder's Hut, a lone survivor discloses Ethan brought the raiders here just as the twins confront him.
Popping smoke and retreating, an actual battle commences against them and other hostiles. Despite their intolerable attitudes perhaps hinting of being tough opponents, both fall fairly easily. Lou passes first, leaving Mickey to lament her death. She discloses regret to Cap over handling everything horribly even after saying otherwise to her mother. That has no effect afterwards and proceeds to get riddled with bullets without mercy.
Back at Joseph's Sanctuary, he and Ethan are both present. The two verbally argue over each other's behavior. After eating an apple, the son is deemed not worthy and gets sickened. Chasing him into a cave, Ethan has transformed into a monstrous beast beyond reason. An extended fight ensues which is even tougher compared to the twins. A few close failures ensue. Once mortally wounded, Ethan returns to human form and makes peace with Joseph. A flashback shows the father and son had a tumultuous history in the past. Joe burns the tree and requests Cap end him. This isn't done by him. Back at Prosperity, he and Carmina have one last conversation by Rush's grave.
Part Notes: The moment to do in the twins couldn't have come any sooner. Kind of disappointing how that fight wasn't difficult, to be honest. And no, Mickey's dying monologue did nothing to change my opinion on either of them. Ethan's fight felt more appropriate. Having the option to off Joseph rather than be forced to do so was interesting as well.
Playthrough Information: This is a blind let's play. I started on Tough difficulty and don't intend to lower it, unless absolutely necessary. Given the gigantic nature of any open world title, I have to limit what's covered in each video, since filming everything will just drag out the series' length. Story missions will all be covered. Certain side quests will be shown as well, depending on the nature involving them. Non plot instances like Expeditions, Liberating Outposts, Treasure Hunts and General Exploration I feel are best left out. 100% completion of every collectible or any other findable item won't at all be a major focus. Gameplay shown on PS5 with a digital downloaded version of the PS4. All videos will include commentary and webcam usage.
About Game: Far Cry New Dawn is a 2019 first-person shooter game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is a spin-off and sequel to Far Cry 5, and the twelfth overall installment in the Far Cry series. Set seventeen years after one of the endings of Far Cry 5 which saw the fictional Hope County, Montana being devastated by a nuclear exchange known as "the Collapse", the game follows a group of survivors as they attempt to rebuild their community and defeat a gang of vicious bandits. Players assume the role of an unnamed security captain who, like Far Cry 5's deputy sheriff, is silent and highly customizable. New Dawn features most of the pre-existing gameplay elements of the series, including a large open world, capturing of outposts, and AI or co-op companions; it also introduces several elements from RPG gameplay, such as an upgradeable home base and increased reliance on crafting from limited supplies.
Far Cry New Dawn was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on February 15, 2019. It received generally mixed reviews, with praise for the world design and entertaining gameplay, and criticism for its narrative and similarities to Far Cry 5. The game's sales were lower than both Far Cry 5 and Far Cry Primal.
Development: New Dawn is developed by Ubisoft Montreal in conjunction with Ubisoft Kyiv, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai. According to art director Issac Papismado, the team had wanted to create a post-apocalyptic game set in the Far Cry series for a long time. The team intentionally avoided a dark and bleak tone as they felt that it would be a cliché and resolved to create a world that looks vibrant.
Set seventeen years after Far Cry 5, the world is undergoing a "super bloom" in which nature reclaims the world and gives the game a vibrant color palette. To give Highwaymen a visual identity, the team invited Montreal artist Zilon to create the game's art and graffiti. Similar to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and Far Cry Primal, the game is a smaller production when compared to the series' main entries, a decision reflected by the game's lower launch price. Announced at The Game Awards 2018, the game was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.
