Fast Farming for Overclock Chips - NieR: Automata
I don't even know if I'm gonna use Overclock for any of the DLCs, and it breaks up the combat flow and pacing in the main game, but it's still cool to have, since it works like Witch Time in Bayonetta. At max level, it slows down time drastically for 5.5 seconds when you do a Perfect Evade, but you only ever need a +1, +2, +3, and +4 chip. +3 slows time for 2.5 seconds and costs 7 space, while a +4 chip slows down time for 3 seconds and costs 9 space.
So like I said, that's 16 space for the same duration as a +8 chip, which costs 21 space. Similarly, a +7 chip lasts for 4.5 seconds and costs 17 space, where you could get the same duration with a +2 chip and +3 chip for 13 space total. A +6 chip slows time for 4 seconds and costs 14 space, but two +2 chips could do the same thing for just 12 space. Then there's a +5 chip, which lasts 3.5 seconds and costs 11 space, while a +1 and +2 chip give the same duration and the same space cost, but are easier to farm.
And then a base chip lasts for 0.8 seconds at a cost of 4 space, which isn't worth it compared to a +1 chip that lasts 1.5 seconds (almost DOUBLE) for just a cost of 5 space. So you only would ever need a +1, two +2, a +3, and a +4 chip for pretty much every cost-effective range you'd want.
And I figured all that out on my own (after looking up online to see how long the later levels of Overclock lasted to see if it was worth fusing them).
