Finally, I get to show one of my contributions to the guide in action. How do you set Zidane up for Lucky Seven without needing an encounter beforehand? Behold my Ore strategy!
In previous versions, you would fight Catoblepas at the Treno Auction house twice to set up for Lucky Seven using a Sapphire at 1HP, but now that is no longer necessary! It's similar to how we set up Zidane for Scarlet Hair, but we do not have Dagger's Life spell to use, and more importantly, Zidane is alive and with FULL HP!
At the start of each disc, all characters are fully healed. In Zidane's case, he is at 105 HP. Anytime a character's maximum HP or MP is increased, the current amount stays the same. So in the last video, Zidane got the Black Belt and his HP+20% ability raised his max HP to 126. In Dali, I instructed you to sell ALL but 3 Ore. This is because whenever you use an Ore on Zidane, his HP is restored by 4 times the # of Ore in your inventory at the time.
The magic formula: 105 + (3 x 4) = 117
Does the ending number look familiar? Lucky Seven assured!!!
The strategy for defeating Tantarian stays the same. Three 7777s will kill Tantarian for you Path A users, but Path B,C, and CS followers have to use 3 Hi-Potions on Tantarian before the third 7777 hits. However, I have a couple more time-savers to add.
1) Freya's Chemist is active so any healing item she uses has twice the potency. That means Freya is throwing 2 Hi-Potions at once! That saves one action and a few seconds to boot!
2) Once the last 7777 hits, have Freya jump, then Vivi uses Bio against the whole party! Magic does not miss, so that ensures that Freya alone will receive the unavoidable experience! No more worrying about Distract messing up your day! With no targets in play, Tantarian's next turn does not happen, and Freya delivers the final blow!
This is the last use of Lucky Seven in the challenge, but we are not done with the ability!
