Items: 1,273 Gil, 970 Gil, 4,286 Gil, Lapiz Lazuli, Chimera Armlet, 15,000 Gil
Key Items: Unusual Potion, Strange Potion, Beautiful Potion
Chocobo H&C Items: Chocograph Piece #2, Dusk Plains Chocograph, Gysahl Greens, Dawn Lagoon Chocograph, Remedy
Chocograph Treasures: Mountain upgrade
The reason I equip the Desert Boots is so that I can keep my inventory void of them, as I will synthesize a full stock of them shortly. All items in Lindblum now are not missable, so I only pick up what is useful for the rest of the challenge. Once I receive all 3 potions, I head to the synthesis shop:
Items Synthesized: 99 Cotton Robes, 99 Desert Boots, 1 Glass Buckle
The Glass Buckle is made simply for a small profit. Nothing more.
Once on the Blue Narciss, it is time to do a chocograph hunt to obtain a couple of very important chocographs.
The first chocograph of importance is Dawn Lagoon, which contains the Mountain upgrade for Choco. If you plan on doing the Promist Ring detour, you must get this in order to get back into Treno, as Catoblepas still needs to be defeated anyway. The second and just as important is Dusk Plains. This one in particular contains Amarant's Kaiser Knuckles, which will make him a much more efficient attacker than Quina for Disc 4, but will also make the battles with Ark, and Meltigemeni much, much faster. I will explain why when those battles come.
For Path C and Combined Stat players, you will need to dig up the Chocograph Piece in addition to the two chocographs. Average players will need to play 3 games to get everything, but I got lucky and got 2 of the 3 items in one game, which is extremely rare!
Not only that I got the Dusk Plains chocograph first, which is better since when you dig up another chocograph, you can check if you got Dawn Lagoon and equip it on your way back to the Blue Narciss, otherwise reset.
Once upgraded, you are right at Treno's doorstep, so enter and equip Quina with either a Feather Hat, Bone Wrist, or Glass Buckle and activate Add Status. Quina should still have the Needle Fork equipped. Save outside the weapon shop, then simply challenge Catoblepas until you petrify it.
Then purge your inventory of now useless equipment:
