All of your abilities are sealed when you first enter Ultimecia Castle, and you can only use the attack command until you unlock the rest. You do that by defeating the bosses inside. Sphinxaur should be your first target.

This thing is very weak and even with only the Attack command, you shouldn't have any trouble defeating it. It will occasionally summon a weak enemy to help it out. You can either kill it, which will just cause Sphinxaur to summon another, or you can simply ignore it. No strategy here. Just attack until it's dead.

Tri-Point can be either very easy or very difficult depending on how prepared you are for it. Junction thunder magic to all of your characters' Elem-Def, preferably so they absorb the damage. It uses Mega Spark as a counter attack and it's pretty powerful. If your characters can absorb the damage, however, any threat this thing poses instantly disappears.

Don't fight Krysta until you've unlocked the GF command. Attack it with anything else and it will hit you with a very strong counter attack. Diablos is particularly effective. Make sure your party is at near full health before you land the finishing blow. It will cast a very strong Ultima spell before it dies, which I forgot about.
