fantasy 14 mass exodus back to world of warcraft.

On a side note, I never expected to say microsoft is going to be the savior of world of warcraft and overwatch, they even mentioned starcraft dang.

But a lot of people did say that, final fantasy 14 is dead. We’re doomed and pack your bags it was all hype and smoke and mirrors!

If you saw my last video on queues finally being reasonable a lot of people took it really out of context and I wanted to get this video out days ago but my mom was on antibiotics and had so my genuine play place of fun, this channel, had to be put to the side for a bit.

But she’s doing better so first thing I wanna talk about is this final fantasy 14 phenomenon.

This is normal for final fantasy 14. Final fantasy 14 respects your time and so we’ve seen queues dip off because of this. Final fantasy 14’s developers don’tthink your time is worth the toilet paper they just used like other grindy games do. This is very normal actually for any patch that has been out for going on 2 months now. There is a significant drop of content that people burn through at an accelerated pace and then there isn’t anything left to do.

And this is factually, one hundred percent factually, something that always has been a factor in final fantasy 14. And this is exactly why me and others say final fantasy 14 respects your time, now people might be confused initially why I say that.

World of Warcraft right now literally days ago has had people do videos on how grindy it is, how time gated it is, how there is an insurmountable amount of grind and daily quests and time gate this time gate that and how people are giving up the grind because it’s just a monster.

In final fantasy 14 once you’ve leveled your jobs to play up, once you’ve got a baseline gear set for them it really does boil down to play when you want what you want. You just should ideally cap your weekly tomestones out to 450 which takes a fairly short time with expert roulette dungeon or hunt trains. But even that stops being a thing after a few weeks because once you have the tombstone pieces you’re done.

In fact there are actually some pure raiders that even skip that, not that it is advisable because best in slot always includes tombstone pieces but I know people that explicitly only raid and are handed a pentamelded crafted set and only log on to raid and absolutely refuse to do anything else.

And they are just fine for it.

I can think of many people who do the same for crafters, housing enthusiasts, some explicitly even play only for mahjong. Yes. Mahjong.

And this is exactly why final fantasy 14 has this large appeal and audience, like I’ve had single mothers in my community I’ve spoken to express they enjoy this cause it’s a nice passive hobby that respects even their time. And if they are giving their stamp of approval that’s a pretty significant positive sign.

So respecting players time is like of the utmost importance to the developers. It’s like if you join final fantasy 14 you’re not forced to do daily quests for 3 months every single day for a few hours because screw being able to travel fast or fly across maps I literally swear were designed to infuriate me and all others. Like the Venthyr map, I loved the Venthyr but that map was absolutely designed to out my time.

At risk of repeating myself, it’s a relief that your ability to perform in raid isn’t dependent on an RNG roll on RNG roll from a RNG drop from an RNG spawn of some mob on an RNG map or titanforging or whatever else. It’s nice to be able to not need to grind out a heart of azeroth in order to raid and not perform worse than someone that doesn’t work a “lol normy scrub lol salaried wagie” full time job.
