FF7 New Threat Mod: https://forums.qhimm.com
FF7 was made by Squaresoft/Square Enix.

Although Ruby is easier than Emerald is, it still took me a little bit to come up with this strategy; mainly to figure out its AI script. Magic wasn't really working all that well, so I figured this is just as good of a time as any to bust out that Masamune and get physical with this thing. This weapon auto crits, has six slots, but no materia growth. The auto crit is what matters here; even at Aerith's strength level, it still does good damage. Also, before anyone mentions it, Dazers do not work this time around, believe me I tried. Of course, the first issue is that we cannot enter the battle with two characters already dead, otherwise we eat a Whirlsand on the first turn, and that's game over. So we need to have the entire party alive entering the fight. In fact, we actually need to try to keep Tifa and Barret alive so they can absorb some hits for Aerith until Ruby pulls out the claws. Meanwhile, we can deal some damage with Aerith as well as toss her a Hero Drink II to boost damage. Once Ruby has the claws out, this battle becomes pretty simple as it will follow a simple attack pattern from here on out:

- Ultima,
- Ruby Flame
- Ruby Ray
- Cinder Drift
- Repeat.
(Ruby also counters with its tentacles after each attack, so we have to keep that in mind, as well.)

Elemental + Fire takes care of both Ruby Flame and Cinder Drift, so we don't have to worry about those two attacks at all. Ruby Ray is non-elemental and deals big damage if it hits, but has the unfortunate place in Ruby's AI script of being between Ruby Flame and Cinder Drift, so to be honest, we don't really care about this attack either as Cinder Drift will heal Aerith enough HP on Ruby's next turn so she can survive the Ultima that comes on the next turn. We want to make sure we have MBarrier active via Planet Protector, and make sure that Aerith has at least 4k HP after the tentacle counter and we can survive Ultima with no problem. We also want to make sure we have enough HP to take the tentacle counter before attacking. I have Magic Counter + Restore equipped just for added insurance, as well as Final Attack + Renew in case something really goes wrong. Basically, Aerith is 100% safe to attack after both Ruby Flame and after Cinder Drift. She can also attack after Ruby Ray and Ultima as well, if the Cure 3 counter triggers; we just want to make sure we get that Planet Protector up before Ultima goes off. A couple of cycles of this kills Ruby Weapon.
