Welcome,

The video you are watching is about the oldest "FF9 perfect game" concept that I created. I tried to achieve it in the file presented (before giving up and using a gameshark to finish the items maximization in Disc 4). The "missable items list" of Atomos199 from Gamefaqs inspired me (in 2008 IIRC) to create this concept of challenge in which the items ammount must be maximized; the description that follows contains mainly information about tested tips for those who want to maximize the items' inventory.

I was careful to follow some specific criteria: These criteria involve quantities of items (to have the maximum of items in number and type in exception of Excalibur 2 of course), the Tetra Master (reaching the 1700 Points and paying attention to the arrangements of arrows chosen for each card) and game stats that can be cheked at the end of the game (from battle stats to Hot & Cold mini game high scores for example and that I will detail below) in addition of elements of a traditional full data as Key Items and so on.
I did this to create a kind of alternate "Perfect Save" to the traditional EX2PG so that the NTSC version does not advantage the player in comparison to the PAL version.
The main feature of the save concerns the items (so as to fill the inventory of the maximum amount for each item plus having some rare items equipped). Here is a chronology of important acttions to perform in order to complete the challenge (concerning the purchases and organization of equipment set only and not the usual aspects of a "perfect save" as Key Items ...etc):
CD1
-At Lindblum, equip Freyja the Javelin and buy 99 more, while avoiding taking the Silver Glove at the forge.
-After getting the Gils needed for future purchases, equip Freia the Iron Helm before CD2.
CD2
in CD2 at the Summit Station, equip Garnet the Air Racket and Steiner the Silver Gloves and buy 99 other and 99 Iron Helms.
- Get the Power Belt at Treno, buy 99 Air Racket, equip Steiner a Chain Mail and buy at least one other before taking control of the other team.
- Before pinnacle Rocks, equip a Chain Mail to Freia and a Power Belt to Freia, Steiner, Quina or Vivi.
-At Lindblum in ruins, assemble 99 Power Belts after equipping Garnet and Zidane two others and buy 99 Chain Mails.
CD3
- Equip a Mithril Sword to Steiner and buy 99 others at Esto Gaza before entering the Desert Palace.
- Steal the Rubber suit and the Avenger from Earth Guardian.
- Buy and forge all the items available to the maximum (except boots) and acquire 10 million additional Gils.
- Prior to Terra, transform the two Chain Mail equipped to Freya and Steiner to Power Belts to have 5 equipped in addition to the 99 of the inventory, do not buy the Thief Gloves in the auction house, do not take the Javelin and Air Racket at Hypsen, do not get the Silk Robe at Qu's March (9 Frogs), do not discover the chocograph 14 containing the Diamond Gloves, do not take the Silver Gloves at Lindblum, and after mastering the abilities of Eiko's and Amarant's weapons, organize equipment in order to have: Zorlin Shape, Silver Fork, Javelin, Tiger Fangs, Hamelin, Air Racket, 1 Bandana (to Amarant), 5 Black Hoods, 1 Silver Gloves, 1 Diamond Gloves, 1 Diamond Armor, 1 Iron Helm, 6 Mithril Vests, 5 Power Belts and 1 Thief Gloves equipped.
CD4
- Forge 6 Brave Suits, 5 Grand Helm, 2 Priest Rackets, a Grand Armor and 1 Masamune at the Black Mage Village.
- Master all of Amarant Abilities after acquiring the necessary equipments, steal items from the CD4 bosses and forge 2 Save The Queen from Hades and forge a Silk Robe.
- Catch the ninth frog to get the Silk Robe at the March, get Javelin and Air Rack at Hypsen, take the Silver Glove at Lindlum, buy the Thief Gloves and discover the Chocograffe 14.
- Arrange equipments so as to have: Silver Fork, Tiger Claws, Hamelin, 5 Black Hood, 2 Diamond Gloves, 1 Diamond Armor, 1 Iron Helm, 2 Silk Robes and 2 Thief Gloves equipped.
- Finally begin maximizing items of CD4 and other quests of the game.

Note: You must be familiar with the game and it is important to read the description of the two videos to understand everything; Gils gain will be detailed in the description of the second video while the Tetra Master section is detailed in my video entitled "FF9 Tetra Master 1700 Points ".
