324The second half of my playthrough of Square's 1991 role-playing game for the Super Nintendo, Final Fantasy II.

It is in this half that I do the optional side-quests and get the final summons before heading to the final showdown on the moon. And if you enjoyed the histrionics of the first half of the game, just wait until they kick it into high gear. You really start to wonder if you'll even have a party left by the end. It gets pretty delightfully absurd.
Most of the cool boss fights take place in the latter half of the game, and man, that ending is practically a mini-movie on its own. There weren't too many other games on the SNES to sport a twenty minute long ending, that's for sure. What a suitably epic and satisfying conclusion to a fantastic game.
