After completing an all White Mage (promoted to White Wizards) run of this game, why not do it with all Thieves? This was a fun playthrough that had quite a bit of planning go into it beforehand. I try to speak to every character to reveal all of the plot points but I only grab the treasures that I want to pick up, which makes dungeons a lot more palatable. I do end up promoting the characters to Ninjas, which are way better than the Thief.
Here are some highlights:
2 minutes, 10 seconds - You actually cannot get into any battles on these squares. Now you know.
2 minutes, 50 seconds - Here's a fun and pointless glitch that happens when you go to your menu screen while standing in a doorway you opened. It creates a sort of "phantom door" that actually does nothing. I do this from time to time throughout the playthrough for no real reason.
3 minutes, 45 seconds - Here's a pointless glitch where you can talk to this invisible person. The reason why she's invisible is because she was marked with an "indoor" flag so she was only supposed to be visible when you were indoors. Strangely, you can't even see her if you enter the door to the right that requires the mystic key.
4 minutes, 30 seconds - Here's a better looking door glitch for no reason.
10 minutes, 50 seconds - I tried but then quickly realized that Garland was a bad idea at level 1.
20 minutes, 20 seconds - There's nothing in that bottom item slot but you can still select it so it can tell you that it's nothing. What a great game!
23 minutes, 20 seconds - Gotta revisit this invisible woman here.
23 minutes, 40 seconds - Interestingly, the bridge to the north is not visible from here.
31 minutes, 30 seconds - This game has a secret slide puzzle minigame that can be accessed while in the ship if you hold the A button and press the B button 55 times. It takes me forever to solve these things but you get 100 GP if you manage to do it. This may have been a record for me though. Also you cannot get into random battles on seaport tiles for some reason.
42 minutes, 30 seconds - Ah! An unusable sample. At least they explained why you can't just take the weapons that are laying there.
44 minutes, 20 seconds - The game allows you to use a tent on the water.
46 minutes, 50 seconds - Here lies Erdrick. This is a fun reference to the Dragon Warrior/Quest series. I think it actually says "Here lies Link" in the Famicom version. I guess Erdrick died in the year 866 at age 29? I wonder why they chose these years.
47 minutes, 40 seconds - Nice double ogre victory at this point of the game.
53 minutes - As long as you're travelling on the water, poison actually doesn't drain your health when you move.
1 hour, 10 minutes, 20 seconds - 1 experience point left to level up. That's fun.
1 hour, 13 minutes, 30 seconds - Where did I go?
1 hour, 16 minutes, 30 seconds - Well the broom said "TCELES B HSUP" so I did. Pressing B+SELECT while outside gives you a nice map of the world.
1 hour, 25 minutes - 1 gold left. That's fun.
1 hour, 41 minutes, 20 seconds - These sea battles can be so irritating. It's like everyone is blinded by the sun or has scurvy or something.
1 hour, 47 minutes - This is a really dumb battle. The OddEYE can't do anything except paralyze you. I think this is a battle that's impossible to lose.
2 hours, 7 minutes, 40 seconds - 1 exp left to level up AGAIN
2 hours, 29 minutes, 40 seconds - Funny bat blocker here. Get out of the way! Kee....Kee....It actually won't move unless you leave the building.
2 hours, 53 minutes - It looked like his hair changed colors when I brought up a dialogue box but I don't see it when I play back this video. Maybe it was something to do with my TV.
3 hours, 7 minutes - Finally out! Really needed some luck for that to work out.
The rest of the video is me realizing I needed to go to the peninsula of power to level up. I decided to stop the video here so that the next section can be fully devoted to grinding the peninsula of power for levels and buying supplies. That way all that stuff is easy to skip over.
