The first video I recorded after restarting the run and changing my party. The initial usage envisaged for the two white mages - casting Blink to dodge everything in the world - proved in effective, as access to offensive magic is a lot more potent for earlygame bosskilling, and Blink's chance of success isn't what it was thought to be. Red Mage accesses the one White Magic we need regardless (specifically, Protect for the Piscodemons), has better gear not to rely on dodging to take hits in certain early fights and has very important usage if the player chooses to level anybody in the party up, which becomes an important factor upon facing Lich.

Vampire is far more straightforward than Astos, the previous boss, and less luck-reliant, as we can say with a sigh of relief. His arsenal includes the normal physical attack, surviving which is futile due to its sheer overkill strength, and the Gaze skill, which paralyses somebody in the party. There is currently no way to recover from the Hold status, though that will change, and in a very timely fashion too, just before the Lich fight.

Vampire may have less health than Astos, but compensates for it by having passive recovery every turn. If you get caught up in a sandbagging cycle, reviving the fallen and dealing with the fallout from Gaze and not doing much if any attacking, the boss will quickly become the healthiest enemy we have ever faced.

Offensively, Red Mages casting Fire is the best source of damage, and using Ether on themselves is the best way to continue attacking again. Otherwise, physical attacks are the way to go, and the Warrior is the best source of such damage - he does not have any other means of damage available after all.

Because of how hard the attacks are, unequipping all gear with any weight for slightly better avoid seems appropriate, though you won't really see much difference in how frequently attacks connect, either. Everyone will quickly end up at 1 HP after being revived, but they're not in any more danger than when we started off as long as we're not down to 2 members standing. The battle is won more reliably than what may appear on the surface.
