It is time to do some paralogues for this part, and the first one we do is Sothis's paralogue, where Byleth heads to Zanado, the Red Canyon, and while he leaves, Dimitri and the others follow him, and they find that Byleth is surrounded by monsters. Then we follow up with another paralogue, which could have something do with protecting Rhea from enemies.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

It is paralogue time, first is Sothis's paralogue, Tales of the Red Canyon, and when you start up the map, Byleth is at the northern part of the map surrounded by two Demonic Beasts. Those include Giant Birds and Wolves, and they will continuously send reinforcements if one Giant Wolf remains. The Giant Birds are weak to arrows, and this is a good map for grinding Wootz Steels, which can be obtained by breaking all the barriers of these Demonic Beasts. As it will take a while to go over each one, the boss is a Wild Demonic Beast with Poison, it has a lot of HP, and it has two shields to go through, and its staggering blow is Poison Breath, which will poison any unit in its range.
Very importantly, if you have a Thief, open that chest, it will contain a Knowledge Gem, it will double skill experience if equipped, so this will allow you to master classes easier and get to A Rank in some skills you will need on some units.
Completing this paralogue will give you Doubled Divine Pulse Charges, so this is worth completing, and some Umbral Steel, which can be used to forge or repair weapons.
Another paralogue is Falling Short of Heaven, it is Ashe and Catherine's paralogue, and you need to have either recruited, or if you are playing on Black Eagles, you only need to recruit Ashe, because you can't recruit Catherine on the Black Eagles route. This is a fog of war map, so bring some torches ready, and you have to protect Rhea from the enemy forces. An enemy Mage has a Torch if you defeat one of them, and our opponents are the Western Church, the ones who have served Lonato, and ever since his defeat, the Western Church are still in the fight, and they will try to target Rhea.
Rhea has a special class called Archbishop, which gives her skills like Charm, Commander, and Terrain Resistance, and that class specializes in Sword, Faith, and Authority. She has Agnea's Arrow, the most powerful form of black magic, and both Dorothea and Lorenz can learn that if they have a high enough skill level in Reason. She is equipped with the Seiros Shield, which restores HP each turn and reduces damage from Monster units and is said to be connected to the Crest of Seiros.
There are some reinforcements which will appear if you have yet to defeat the Vice Bishop, Priest, and Bishop, and Ashe does have some quotes if you let him fight one of them. The reinforcements are some Pegasus Knights and Assassins, the Pegasus Knights have Avoid +10, making them easier to avoid attacks, and Assassins have very high Speed. The boss opponents drop items when defeated, the Vice Bishop has a Secret Book, which increases Dexterity by 2 points, and the Bishop has a Steel Shield, and what I find strange is both are in the Dark Bishop class. The Dark Bishop has good Magic and Resistance, and has some powerful spells like Banshee Θ and Death Γ.
When you have defeated all enemies, you will get some rewards for completing this paralogue. Shoes of the Wind increases movement by 1, a Critical Ring that boosts critical hit rate, and Umbral Steel. If you have Ashe recruited, you get Gaspard Knights, a Battalion that Lonato and the Western Church used in Chapter 3, and it gives boosts to Strength, Hit, Protection, and Charm, and the Gambit is Assault Troop, it requires a B Rank in Authority to use that Battalion. Completing this paralogue also unlocks Ashe's supports with Catherine.
Then we have the White Heron Cup, and to win, your unit needs to have at least 13 or more Charm to win, if you have a Tea Party with that unit, that will boost Charm to both Byleth and the guest. The other houses will pick their representatives, and one thing to note is that the Black Eagles will always pick Dorothea if you have not recruited her at this point, and because Flayn's Charm stat is over 13 when recruiting her, she will always win no matter what, so she does have unused dialogue for when she doesn't win the White Heron Cup.
