Just over a year ago, in May 2019, this fast and resource-limited team-ready distribution, running on 1GB of RAM and on x86-architecture computers, He launched the tenth version of your operating system. But earlier this year a misfortune happened: its CEO Mark Graeves passed away, so many of us who would have understood it thought the project had come to an end. From the looks of it, it won't be like this and Peppermint 11 it is already in the development phase.
So has reported Jason Evangelho of Forbes, who claims that the new Peppermint OS forum administrator has informed the community that Peppermint 11 is in full development. Some of the team members are having extra work to finish what Graeves started and together they are trying to make everything fit together so that the distribution goes forward.
Peppermint 11 will be based on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa
Peppermint OS is based on Ubuntu, more specifically on the LTS versions of the operating system developed by Canonical. Therefore, will be supported until 2025, but it is not known when the Peppermint 11 counter will start, that is, there is no scheduled release date yet. Like other distributions like Debian do, Peppermint OS developers release new versions of their operating system when they are ready, but it should arrive during or after the summer of 2020.
The news that will arrive with Peppermint 11 will be revealed at the time of its launch, or a few weeks before if they decide to launch a beta version. Looking at what came about a year ago, we had a lot of internal improvements like ad blockers, ICE or a utility that transforms a web page or web app into a separate browser-based application that seamlessly integrates into the system menus and your desktop.

Joseph Dickson has announced the availability of a brand-new Peppermint OS release, the first one in over two years. The user-friendly distribution is now based on Debian 11 and uses the Xfce desktop; it is available for 64-bit architectures only. The new release comes without a version number, but the download folder includes a BuildDate.txt file, so we'll use the "build date" as the version number. From the release notes: "Team Peppermint is happy to announce our latest release. New features: our new Welcome to Peppermint application allows you to quickly customize Peppermint by installing software we think you'll like - we allow you to choose your default packages and web browser; the new Peppermint Hub combines Peppermint Settings and Control Center for managing your system; hblock is a terminal based ad-blocker, it can be enabled or disabled at anytime. Additional changes: LXDE components have been removed in favor of Xfce 4.16; Calamares replaces Ubiquity for system installation; a minimum set of desktop wallpapers is included during installation; a streamlined set of icons and Xfce themes are included; Nemo replaces Thunar as the default file manager....
