There are multiple ways to fix the Counter Strike microphone issue, one of the more common and easy solutions being to select your microphone as the input device using the Steam game overlay. Additionally, you can increase the volume or gain of your microphone through the Steam audio settings to fix your microphone being too quiet.
Another solution to fix microphone not working in CS2 issues is to ensure that applications have access to your microphone in the microphone privacy settings. Sometimes the allow access options will be disabled resulting in your microphone not working.
To get your microphone working in CS2 you may need to change your PC input settings. You will want to ensure that the device you want to use as your microphone is set in the sound settings as the default device. Additionally, you will want the volume for your input device to be set at 90 or higher. If your microphone volume is too low then no one will be able to hear you in Counter Strike 2.
Another possible reason your microphone won't work in CS2 is because an application is taking exclusive control over it, stopping it from being used in game. To prevent this from happening you can turn off the exclusive control options in the microphone properties found in the sound control panel.
Updating your microphone's drivers can also solve the issue, with searching your PC being the easiest method to update them. You can also try unplugging your microphone device and reconnecting it to try and fix the issue.
