FoEhints: Forge Bowl Event in Forge of Empires
Forge Bowl Event in Forge of Empires
On February 4th, 2018 the Super Bowl will be fought out in the USA. This is the final of the American-Football professionals league National Football League (NFL). Based on this real live event there will be the Forge Bowl event in Forge of Empires. I assume it will start mid of January and last over the date mentioned above.
In american football players try to bring a ball formed like an egg to the opponent's endzone to drop it on the ground there. This is called a touchdown. Typical for this game are the separate game moves, always interrupted by small breaks. This is similar in Forge of Empires. You get balls every day and 20 quests plus one quest every day always having balls as reward.
With these balls you buy one of three possible moves and this choice is immediately rewarded with a price from the attached list. The number of yards a move can bring you forward is assigned to each possibility. It is not necessary that a more expensive move must always help you to more yards. More expensive moves usually provide better immediate rewards. Therefore you have to decide if you want to get your next touchdown as fast as possible or prefer to have a good immediate reward.
From these immediate rewards three event buildings are of special interest:
Winner's Plaza provides happyness and 4% attack bonus
Athlete living quarters provides population, coins, 7% defense and if motivated 5 goods from the building's current age
Arena of victors, a production building
These buildings have average quality compared to other event buildings, having bonusses which are not exceptional.
This is completely different with the Pillar of heroes. Initially you receive the pillar with very bad properties, which get better with each upgrade. I want to emphasize that the pillar gets higher with each upgrade, but the 3 x 3 floor size does not change. Without exxageration you can say that level 7 of this building is the best building that ever was launched in this game. It provides coins, supplies, 3 forge points and 6 goods every day. Different to the building sets, no specific neighbours are required for this. This is unparalleled until today.
You will receive the pillar and the first two upgrades through the quest line. Two or three more upgrades you can achieve by touchdowns. Only every second touchdown provides an upgrade kit. Towards the end of the event the upgrade kit is also offered at least twice as a possible daily price. It can be a good strategy to collect balls until this daily price is offered. The initial reward of 35 balls per quest grows over time but the video shows how many moves are necessary to have one touchdown.
New players should pay attention for the nice daily rewards. Those who only have a few event buildings will be happy with getting more. Advanced players always have a lack of space and therefore are not interested in average buildings. Instead they will try to get as many upgrades for the pillar as possible. To achieve this they only should use those moves providing the maximum progress per ball towards the next touchdown, even if the immediate reward is absolutely uninteresting. A better usage of a 3x3 space than building a Pillar of Heroes level 7 is impossible in this game.
