Support Chains in Forge of Empires

Except the Relic temple great buildings on level 1 are just a waste of space. But bringing such a building to level 10 consumes a lot of forge points. Rewards are a motivation for other players to support great buildings. In case a player would only support his own great buildings all these rewards would be lost. Based on this, players developed an idea which guarantees that every players receives as many forge points as he invests in other player's great buildings. This strategy is in line with the game rules.

One player of a guild creates a guild message. Of course he or she has to have the according rights. The headline of the message should be „Support Chain“ and the number of forge points per support. Bigger guilds have several of these support chains. Usual sizes are 3 FP, 5 FP, 8 FP and 10 FP. Guilds with many players in advanced ages often also have support chains with 20, 30 or even 100 FP. The last one is found at guilds being very active in guild expeditions.

In the first message the creator defines a great building to be supported with the given number of forge points. The second player responds with defining which of his great buildings should be supported. Then he closes the message and opens it again immediately. Now he checks who is mentioned above his response and puts the requested number of forge points into that great building. The third then supports the great building of the second and so on. This way everybody receives as many forge points as he or she invests.

Some are curious to know why the message should be closed and reopened again. This avoids conflicts in case two players respond at the same time.

Some think the start of a support chain is not fair. The first player receives without giving. A good solution for this is to mention another player's observatory. An observatory is a great building that only supports the guild, not the individual player. This way a player can start such a support chain without having a great building or the required number of forge points.

In guilds with players of the same strength such support chains are a very fair method, very flexible also in the case someone takes holidays. In case there are players in the guild who have many more forge points than others, they steal the desired first reward ranks from the weaker players. In such a case it helps if players suffering from this make agreements beside the support chains so that they give each other the first rank this way. Many more ideas are possible. Have success upgrading your great buildings!
