Forest of Hope Clear Red Pikmin Only Challenge (Days 3-7) *Commentated*
44Here we are. It's all been leading up to this. Soon I will be the first person to beat pikmin 1 with only red pikmin!
Countless hours of theorising and glitch hunting to increase the maximum amount, and now 30/30 is possible. In this series I will show the modern strategy to collect all parts with only reds.
A tricky area to clear but only due to the day constraint. A TAS could beat this in 4 days and 3 days is possible with an incredibly rare event called a "part warp". 5 days is acceptable, I still have plenty of time for all the other areas.
Most of the parts here require some sort of strategy to collect red only but the most interesting ones are the 4 parts behind the gate. It's possible to get them past the gate by first pushing them against the path the pikmin would carry them, then using the bulborb to clip them through the gate.
Sometimes a part will clip through the floor instead of the gate. How it behaves out of bounds is something I've started calling a part warp. I don't know properly how it works, but parts can reappear above ground after a short time, either exactly where if clipped into the ground or, much more usefully, somewhere completely different, like the other side of a gate.
