***Read this: When I give performance analysis, I don't just show average frames per second, or some other superficial BS. This video discusses how the game has performed on different hardware, it shows how well the game "can" play in 4K 60fps, and it even shares some tips to deal with stuttering. (it also explains which hardware will probably not be able to overcome the stuttering)

Also, NOTE: The "easy" fixes like disable core 0 do not magically work like people say they do. It takes a MIXTURE of tricks to get a stable 60fps. I have been watching the "easy" fix videos, and they either do not show the fps counter, or their frame rate counter is clearly less stable than mine. It can take MULTIPLE tricks to tame this game. I'm sorry if you want an "easy" fix. Just take solace in knowing the game "can" run at 60fps, if you're willing to jump through some hoops.

I discuss Forza Horizon 3's performance, in the first week of its release, and I show how well it "can" be played, in 4K, at 60fps.

The spoiler alert for this video is: The game can be made to play smoothly, at 60fps, if you have an i7. If you have an i5, you can probably get it to play smoothly at 30fps, but even with a GTX 1080, I have seen the game still stutter pretty badly, when anything above 30fps is sought, with an i5.

I also show the multi step process I use to get Forza Horizon 3 to play smoothly for me. It's a hassle, but it's worked on three different i7's so far, and it's "sort of" worked with an i5. (it required using the LOW or MEDIUM preset, and it required using powerful graphics cards)

Disclaimer: Depending on your processor and how much VRAM you have, it might not be possible to get rid of the stutter, when pursuing 60fps. I expressly state that here, and in the video. With that said, I have usually been able to at least achieve 30fps, without stutter, when following all of the advice I've been sharing in these videos.

Written steps to help with stutter:

1. Go to Nvidia control panel and choose a resolution that says 60hz.
2. Be prepared to use lower settings than you'd expect to have to use.
3. Use V-Sync. Following every step, but not using V-Sync will likely lead to stuttering.
4. If the game is still stuttering, go to the task manager, and reassign the game's Priority to High.
5. If it STILL STUTTERS, after reassigning the game's Priority to High, change it to LOW.
6. Make sure ALL of the geometry settings are at Medium, or if need be, Low.
7. If all of the above has not worked, try disabling the 0 core. I only do this as a last resort, and it does not always work, but sometimes it does. To do this: Go to Task Manager, then "Details," find Forza in the list of tasks. Then right click on Forza Horizon 3, and select "Affinity." In there, uncheck the box next to the number "0."

These tricks have worked with three different i7's, but they have not worked with my i5. Also... having 4GB of VRAM is important. This game uses more than 3.5GB of VRAM, even at the Medium preset, in 1080p.

***Updated with a 7th step for disabling the 0 core. Doing this has not helped me very often, and to be honest, I usually don't have to even try it. I save it as a very last step.

The thing is... If you disable the 0 core first, it can make the game play "better," but not as good as it can ultimately play, if you do all the steps. I think a lot of people have just settled for the small amount of help it can be, without realizing they can get the game to play even more smoothly.
