FOX n FORESTS is a 16 Bit styled action platformer with puzzle elements.
First of all the Pixelart style is absolute gorgeus, it really feels like a well made Mega Drive/Genesis Game.
Not only the world and sprites look great, they are also nicely animated, everything wiggles and move a little, so the whole thing feels alive.

The music also fits that style as well as the controls. You have a certain momentum, but you still have control of your character.

Goal of the Game is to reach the end of the level, but also to find the hidden goodies in each level. Aside the Gold you find, you also find certain things that act as a additional currency, that allows you to buy upgrades.
But some goodies are out of reach and you need new types to arrows to get them. So you have to replay the level later to collect these.
In a way this is okay, but i think it would've been better, if you need only one extra upgrade to find all the goodies in a level instead of two.

After i did beat the first Boss, i couldn't progress, since i needed 4 magical seeds, but only had two at that moment. But i got a new Arrow type, that did open some paths in the first level to get some additional magic seeds.
I still didn't found everything on that first level, since there is also a trigger that needs another type of arrow. So i have to play the first level a third time to get all the goodies. Throughout the Video you can also see, that each level is huge, compared to other Games.

But aside that, i think this is a little blast to the past. It really feels like i'm playing a top-notch SNES/Genesis Platformer.
