Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom might look like a racing Game, since you control a car, but it's a 3D Platformer. But it also mixes in some elements from car racing Games, so that you need speed to make certain jumps, you can't move and stop on a dime, there is always a bit momentum.
The Goal is to collect Gears, which unlock new levels and this way you also unlock new abilities.

It's a good mechanic for 3D Platformer, since this way the player needs to explore the different parts of the level. The levels are colorful and try to mimic the early 3D Platformer Games like Croc or Super Mario 64. Graphically i get the Sonic Robo Blast 2 vibes, so maybe Sonic R for the Sega Saturn also had a influence on it.

The game is fun for it's crazy over the top style, that aside it's a good collectathon Platformer.
