FRACKED might just be the next big PSVR exclusive that owners of the system have been waiting for, a big, bold & brash VR shooter that blends action, free running, climbing and bizarrely VR skiing into one slick celshaded espionage package! Ndreams were kind enough to let me go hands on with an early FRACKED VR gameplay demo / FRACKED PSVR demo and I jumped at the chance to test this one out. The PSVR motion controls may leave a lot to be desired compared to more modern & elegant solutions but FRACKED absolutely nails it with the control system & utilises every bit of the PSVR system to give players an immersive & action packed experience. This might just be the summer of PSVR...

So what is this new PSVR exclusive then? FRACKED comes from the creators of Phantom: Covert Ops and is the trailblazing new VR action adventure that collides relentless gunfights with free running, skiing, and climbing. Become a reluctant hero forced into a final stand between the planet and a legion of interdimensional enemies (weird looking zombie Thanos soldiers). Uncompromised, audacious, and stylish, take aim and run head-first into the action across an extreme PSVR exclusive adventure.

I left this demo very impressed with what the FRACKED gameplay / FRACKED VR gameplay has presented to me so far, the controls felt responsive, the art style was vibrant and striking, voice acting felt genuine and gave a comic book-esque vibe and the cover system is one of the best VR shooter mechanics I've come across whilst playing VR. Being able to grab any surface and then simply pull yourself into and out of cover to peek at enemies is a stroke of genius that feels exceptionally fun to play with, it's almost like being transported into a modern version of Time Crisis where you have more control over just how much you choose to peak out at enemies. All in all I'm excited for the 20th of August and it looks like the PSVR still has some gems up it's sleeve.
