Everslaught VR feels like the Doom Eternal VR or Doom VR experience many have wanted for quite some time, after Doom VFR failed to give players the fast paced & gory action that the flatscreen counter parts executed so well this new indie PC VR game has emerged from the shadows to provide us with blisteringly fast combat, satisfyingly gory action and an amazing steampunk gauntlet that acts as both a shotgun, grappling hook & healing tool. After an hour of Everslaught VR gameplay I was hooked and knew this game had the potential to grow into something very, very special indeed...

In it's current early access state Everslaught ran perfectly on the Oculus Quest 2 via link or airlink, the gameplay loop is straightforward but engaging with light RPG mechanics. Drop into a tomb, destroy all the enemies inside collecting their blood as you do, collect gold & weapon upgrades and then return to the main chamber to deposit the collected blood and level up your character for future runs. As a fan of the Doom series & someone with a pretty strong VR stomach I felt immediately comfortable with Everslaught, some less experienced players may struggle with the speed of the characters movement & without any real movement options currently (no teleport & no smooth turning) it might alienate a few VR players, but those who are comfortable with it's speed & intensity will find an extremely enjoyable game that truly does feel like a Doom Eternal VR homage with plenty of character & replayability!
