Quiz And Dragons, 1992 Capcom (20 From '92 Part 14(
Awesome trivia game in a fantasy and board-game type of setting, in which you can choose one (or 2 in simultaneous play format) of 4 fantasy characters: the Fighter (who can recover vitality quickly [vitality is lost due to incorrect answers'), the Wizard (who can change the category), the Amazon (who can cut out 1 or 2 of the multiple choice answers), and the Ninja (who can deal double damage to enemies). A roll of the die determines how many spaces you move on the board, and the board is filled with various enemies with varying amounts of correct answers needed to defeat. Other spaces include an inn where you can recover all vitality with a correct answer, and an elf's house where they give you a helpful item for answering a question correctly-- the item may help you slow down the timer so you have more time to answer, or you may get a scroll which lets you choose the category, etc. The large spaces you cannot pass-- you MUST fight a monster and answer the requisite amount of questions correctly. Dying allows you to choose a different character (upon insertion of a credit), and lets you keep the amount of correct questions answered and your score! Beating a "boss" character allows you to advance to the next stage (and sometimes during a stage you can select an alternate path to the boss). The final stage ends with 3 straight "must fight" spaces, including the final boss of the game, Gordian. Very fun game of trivia that didn't seem to appear in too many arcades in the US as far as I know, but it's still my favorite game of trivia by far, and is really well done by Capcom. Bravo!
