A review for the side-scrolling, turn-based, eldritch-filled dungeon-crawler, Darkest Dungeon.

** Technical notes: **

* Recording clips for this game was a hassle, because my recorder didn't overlay it for whatever reason. The game's screen only lit up for a second to show it was recording. As a result of this, I forgot to record a couple of times. Sharp-eyed viewers who are former players will probably note that the 'drinks at the tavern' dialogue has a different background and a different hero mixed in. This is because it happened on a different dungeon level than level 1, but it's the only similar clip I had.

** I used a bunch of songs, which are not part of the game, for the review. The songs are from the YouTube Audio Library and are, in order, as follows:

Some of these songs are interrupted by clips from the game that need their audio, such as when examples of the narrator's lines are shown and need to be heard. When this happens, then either the song picks back up afterward or a new one begins.

*** For those wondering why I gave the Characters section a rating of 3, despite how little characterization exists in the game, that's solely due to the narrator boosting the rating on his own. I really liked that character, his dark cheesy dialogue, and the voice acting for him. The other characters were barely characters. If the game lacked its narrator, then I'd say the game has nothing on character development. But I give it points for having a strong character who remains in the game from start to finish, and who does have information revealed about him in-game. At the same time, though, I can't rate DD excellently on that when only one character stands out, and the rest are flat.
