The Nintendo GameCube controller is one of the most popular of all-time, from competitive Smash Bros players to those who just want a great controller. Nyxi has created a number of controllers based on this design over the years, from the Warrior which is a dedicated Gamecube-style pro controller, but they also have the Wizard. The difference with the Wizard is that it can connect to a Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED and be used as Joy-Cons. They've recently updated the Wizard, and they've sent us their latest in the Wizard 2.

One of the major differences between the Original Wizard and the Wizard 2 is the different systems that it can be used with. The Original was only compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, Switch Lite, and Switch 2. The Wizard 2 can be used with many more systems, including PC, Wii, and GameCube! That's right, you can use this in place of a Wavebird!

For those who use them, one of the other cool features about the Wizard 2 is that you can use it with Amiibo! That's right, the Wizard 2 has NFC Amiibo support, something most 3rd party controllers lack.

The joysticks have been updated, as the Wizard 2 utilizes TMR Hall Effect sticks, which are designed to prevent the common issue of joystick drift, offering smooth and responsive control. The face buttons (A, B, X, Y) and shoulder buttons are micro-switch, providing a tactile, clicky feedback for quick and accurate inputs. The ZR and ZL triggers are dual-stage, offering both a long-travel Hall effect trigger and a short-travel micro-switch trigger.

The Wizard 2 supports Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4G wireless, and a wired USB-C connection, providing flexibility for different gaming setups. It also features HD Rumble, a 6-axis gyro for motion controls, and adjustable turbo.

Have you used Nyxi controllers before? What is your favorite? Have you tried out the Wizard or Wizard 2 controllers? Share your thoughts in the comments.
