No One Is Talking About These Donkey Kong Bananza Camera Issues?
Let me be clear, I think that Donkey Kong Bananza is a ton of fun. It looks great, it has great audio, I like the story, and I like the game. However, there are 2 issues with the game that make me wonder why no one is talking about them. One has to do with the presentation, the other has to do with the physics.
Camera Issues:
I feel that the camera control requires frequent manual adjustments in Bananza. I feel like I am constantly moving the right stick around to adjust the camera positioning, especially when digging. To me, the camera can feel "wobbly" and difficult to control.
The game frequently takes control of the camera, sometimes at inopportune moments. This can be disorienting, especially during platforming sections where a sudden change in perspective can lead to misjudging a jump and falling off a narrow ledge. The camera's tendency to suddenly swivel to admire scenery or focus on a boss can also be frustrating.
I think the major issue is that the camera is often too close to the character, even when zoomed out. This can make the already-cramped screen feel even more restrictive and difficult to navigate, especially in tight spaces or when a tag barrel obstructs the view.
What Gravity?
With the destructive environment, sometimes you can destroy all of the supports of a structure and it still just floats there. Like, what? If a mountain top has no supports when why in the world would it not collapse I realize that I am complaining that a gorilla destroying a mountain makes sense but the mountain floating on its own doesn't is a weird line, but it just works for me.
