According to a recent next gen console expose done by Edge, Microsoft are rumored to be putting in an online activation system on the next gen Xbox 720, or Durango. This report has said that according to a source close to MS, you will have to put in an online activation code when you purchase a game for the next gen Xbox 720, even if you buy a boxed retail copy. Digital games will be available, but this system would effectively kill off the second hand / pre owned games market if users cannot use a disc if it has already been activated via Xbox Live.
