Hey hope you’re having an incredible day so far. Today we’re going to talk about how to prepare for Wrath of the Lich King Pre-patch! We’ll go over what you should start working on now if you’re planning on making a death knight during pre-patch, and we’ll also talk about other pre-patch only events, gear, pets, and more after that, so you can prepare accordingly. Let’s begin.

First off let’s talk Death Knight preparation for pre-patch.
Gold
Death Knight Preparations
6,000 Gold for Regular Flying + Epic Flying & Mount

If you don’t have 6000 gold, remember that just from leveling through Outland you’ll get about 1,000g.
Bags
Deathknights start with 4 Deathweave bags, which are 12 slot bags. You can get Netherweave Bags which are 16 slot bags for about 8g, so it shouldn’t be hard to get those ahead of time. If you’re made of money, you can buy even better bags, but you should have some improved bags ready for your deathknight to replace those deathweave bags.
Profession Materials
Mining can be trained up to 290 just from smelting ore:

And whatever other profession you want to level to 375 skill, all the materials can be purchased or farmed before you’ve made your Death Knight. Whether that’s Engineering materials, Jewelcrafting, or whatever. If you’re looking to turn a profit, if Inscription comes out during pre-patch you can sell your stockpile of herbalism mats, or if it doesn’t continue stockpiling until wrath launches and inscription is available and the cost of herbalism materials are sure to go up once demand skyrockets from players leveling inscription.
You can even think about getting First Aid on your death knight, and Cooking materials ready too – just remember, death knights start with 270 First Aid, meaning you’re on Heavy Runecloth Bandages for getting skill up. So you only need Runecloth and Netherweave Cloth:

Quest Items
Some quests require you to turn in items that aren’t actually quest items, meaning they can be purchased from the auction house or farmed by a different character beforehand. In this section I’m going to list out items you can purchase or farm beforehand which you can send and turn in for experience on your death knight upon completing the Death Knight starting area for a bunch of experience. This can also get you ahead of the pack of death knights and hopefully make your leveling experience smoother from less competition.
First off is Light’s Hope Quests – you need to be Friendly with the Argent Dawn to get access to these, which means doing a handful of quests, but once you’re friendly, these materials get you 5 quests worth of experience.
30 core of elements
30 crypt fiend parts
30 bone fragments
30 savage frond
30 dark iron scraps
There’s also the quest from the Dwarf “That's Asking A Lot” calling for
Unstable trigger x 8,
hi-explosive bomb x 8,
thorium bar x 2,
gold rod
On your way to Orgrimmar or Stormwind depending on your faction to be accepted into the Horde or Alliance this is a great opportunity to turn in some cloth. If you’re Horde in Orgrimmar you can get two turn ins at once – One for Orcs and one for Trolls –
Roshona Straglash in the Drag, and Vehena in the Valley of Spirits will each accept donations of cloth in stacks of 60. Total materials for horde would be
120 runecloth
120 mageweave
120 silk cloth
120 wool cloth
If you’re alliance, Stormwind only has the human cloth donations so, 60 of each of those is enough. If you really wanted you can go around to each major city turning in cloth, but it’s questionable if that is really faster than just going questing, or in our case heading to the blasted lands for the next turn in…
