Ghost Toasters - Chapter 2 Walkthrough (mobile)
In Chapter 2 of Ghost Toasters, you will get to experience a much more intense gameplay compared to Chapter 1. The ghosts show up in increasingly larger numbers, and the variety of them has improved, too.
An example of this is the basketball ghost. Up until now, all ghosts, great and small, needed to touch your character in order to eliminate it. Basketball ghosts, however, are long range enemies who will throw their basketballs at you in order to assist their kin. They will also sometimes attempt to reach the corners of the screen for maximum range of their attack, thereby forcing you to hunt them down, rather than the other way around.
Our heroes are not helpless against the onslaught, though. As you level up each character, they’ll become stronger, while at the same time losing some of their previous weaknesses. Mordecai’s plasma rifle, for example, no longer requires several shots before destroying basic ghosts, and can even serve as a great countermeasure to those pesky basketball players… I mean ghosts.
In addition to this, a new playable character is unlocked: Eileen, who dual wields her weapons, much like Rigby. Unlike Rigby, however, she’s the first character who’s able to shoot ghosts left and right… literally. She is by far one of the most useful characters so far, since even as an AI ally she will cover your back, rather than shoot at whatever it is you’re shooting, which is useful at first, when your weapons are weak, but later becomes overkill.
Still, overkill is something you will definitely want to partake in from time to time, especially when dealing with such a high amount of ghosts. That’s where the power-ups come in. If the ghosts are closing in on you, simply tap the Magic Keyboard, and let it work its… magic.
Yes, that was a cheap joke. I regret nothing.
Another form of overkill is the purple portal. There seems to be very few limits regarding the amount of characters that can help you survive. The only limit that I can see so far is the amount of unlocked characters. That is, if you have 4 unlocked characters, you can activate up to 4 characters at any given time, but there’s also no cloned characters, so you can’t have 2 Mordecai’s backing you up, for example.
After progressing enough in the game, you will gain the “Terror Tales” achievement, which will unlock Chapter 1 endless stage, as well as award you with 2,000 XP. The endless stage is exactly what it says on the tin can: a stage where you will try to survive against wave after wave of ghosts. Some see it as the ultimate challenge; I see it as an exercise in futility. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.
The video ends with a newly unlocked character: Baby Ducks. What will they do? Do they beak the ghosts to (re)dead? Do they launch each other as if they were… angry, somehow? Will they cause the ghosts to explode due to cuteness overload?
