Ghost Toasters - Chapter 3 Walkthrough (mobile)
In Chapter 3 of Ghost Toasters, you will notice a few abrupt changes. There are two new playable characters: Baby Ducks and Thomas. As predicted in the previous chapter’s description, the Baby Ducks do in fact launch each other like angry ducks.
One thing to notice, however, is that the range of this attack is quite limited, so it’s important to keep that in mind when playing as them. Much like Pops, they’re best suited for short range attacks, but unlike Pops, their attacks are much faster, and the ducks will actually roll around until either a timer runs out or they hit a target, at which point they’ll explode, so just think of them as a semi-automatic grenade launcher and you’ll do fine with them.
The other character is Thomas, and he wields a modified toaster which he uses to toast his enemies… nah, I’m lying through my teeth; that would have actually been somewhat creative, and would have helped to make him a distinctive character to play as. Instead, Thomas’ weapon is similar to Mordecai’s, but a lot stronger, because as we all know, it’s been scientifically proven that toast beats plasma, every single time.
Another think you’ll notice is that the location has changed. This time, instead of fighting ghosts at the park entrance during the night, you’ll be battling them at the lake, complete with a lake monster, which you can actually use as a platform to jump on.
It’s important to notice, however, that the lake monster can easily turn into a trap, thanks to an added gameplay mechanic: environmental dangers. While during the first two chapters you only needed to worry about the ghosts, this time you can also fall into the water and drown. At ground level, you can stay on land or jump to the boats. Alternatively, you can also fight the ghosts from the rooftop of the boat rentals locale, or you can use either said rooftop or the lake monster to jump to the clouds.
However, you must be careful when dealing with the lake monster, because although it won’t attack you (it probably doesn’t like the ghosts, either), it won’t stay above the water surface for long. You need to time your jumps carefully, because otherwise you’ll try to jump on the monster’s head just as it submerges back into the lake. If this happens, you probably won’t make it, and therefore you’ll drown in the lake.
Sometimes, you’ll notice that a portal appears just above the lake monster’s head, and you might think that you need to wait for it to resurface before you can get it. While it may look like the portal was placed there for one such occasion, it isn’t actually necessary to wait for the lake monster to show up! If you’re on ground level, try jumping towards the boats and you’ll reach the portal. Alternatively, if you’re on the clouds, then simply let yourself fall back to the ground in a diagonal manner (keep moving left or right while falling), and the trajectory will take you right past the portal, too!
