In Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES, there's a difficult yet reliable glitch you can execute in level 7-1 to warp straight to the game's ending. It's called the wrong warp (or sometimes called the credits warp) and it requires a fairly particular set of steps, but after a little bit of practice I was able to pull it off a few times consecutively.

The first step of this trick is to bring a tail to level 7-1. You can be Raccoon Mario, Tanooki Mario, or even P-Wing Mario (I am fairly certain) but I did it with Raccoon Mario.

Upon entering level 7-1 proceed to the door and enter it. This step doesn't require any sort of precision or specific positioning. When you enter the door, immediately run to the left, jump on the small platform, and jump onto the first Koopa and kick him away to the right, then jump up and enter the rightmost pipe going upward. Then defeat the three Piranha Plants.

Now proceed up the pipe, grab the Koopa's shell, and enter the pipe on the left going upward. When you get to the top of the pipe, jump up to the left side of the ? block and kick the Koopa shell into it to the right so that he gets immediately defeated (that is, he doesn't bounce off the block and remain in play). Then, grab the other Koopa in between the two ? blocks, stand against the right side of the right most ? block and kick the shell leftward into the block so that Koopa immediately dedz as well.

Now grab the shell of the flying Koopa and fall downward so that you're standing to the left of the area where you defeated the Piranha plants. You should be standing to the left of a pipe you already rode upwards. What you'll want to do is kick the shell to the left, and then jump on it again as it is about one pixel into the pipe. For a more accurate idea of where you should stop this shell, check out this informative guide by @Mitchflowerpower - https://youtu.be/a4e6vLdvqlI

Now hop down the middle pipe, and that first Koopa should be respawned. You'll want to take a hit here to lose your shell, so get munched then jump on the Koopa, grab his shell, and enter the middle pipe leading upward while facing to the right. Hold on to the shell.

Now just wait until the Koopa breaks out of your grasp, and immediately hold down on the D-Pad. This will turn you into small Mario - or as the British call him, "Voodoo Child" - and you will travel back down the pipe on the first possible frame. Note that if the Koopa moves even just a pixel after he damages you, the glitch may not work.

Now you may want to touch the very bottom of the level just to make sure all the enemies have despawned, but that's optional and I'm not sure it does anything.

What you're going to do next is clip into the white line on the rightmost pipe and travel downwards. Essentially you have to run left and jump into a precise pixel while holding down (or down and left) on the D-Pad and Mario will travel down a glitched graphic that appears to the right of that pipe.

If you've done everything right, Mario will travel down a few screens of messy garbage sprites, but eventually he will be placed in a strange area with some green coins, and he should slide a little to the right as he finally lands. After he stops, jump in place and the game should take you straight to the ending where Princess Toadstool - or as the British call her, Princess Peach - is being held captive.

Congratulations! You did the Super Mario 3 Wrong Warp and you technically beat the game!
