A game-breaking Mega Man glitch in Ice Man's stage (NES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #shorts
7,000In Mega Man for the NES, there's a very volatile and unpredictable glitch you can perform in Ice Man's stage. The results of the glitch depend on which frame you input left or right on the d-pad, but it's chaotic and fun to mess around with.
Go to Ice Man's stage, and stand on the highest platform just after the first water section (before the first screen transition). All you need to do here is jump as high as you can and alternate between left and right on the directional pad. Most often, this action seems to cause the game to crash and reset or simply freeze.
However sometimes you can get the game to do some very odd things. For example I was able to change the ice physics in such a way that Mega Man was moving way faster than normal. At one point this glitch simply tallied my score on the spot, which counted as winning the level, then I entered Fire Man's stage and it looked very visually glitchy.
Sometimes it can cause random glitched enemies to spawn. Also, I've seen other people trigger strange color changes in the level. One video even showed the Yellow Devil boss starting up right there on Ice Man's level.
