God of War (2018) - paddle combat
31Paddle combat is a bit like Mortal Kombat, except there is a paddle and everyone has a good time.
I'm still not completely sure what causes this glitch to happen. Basically, sometimes when you try to enter a boat, it's possible to do a small break-out of the climbing animation to make Kratos pick up the paddle but not enter the boat at all. Doing this might be dependent on which pier you are on as well as other unknown circumstances.
When I do manage to make it work, it seems to happen if I try to climb the boat and immediately afterwards try to do another action like block or a melee attack.
I think the game becomes confused on whether Kratos is sailing or not in this state. Almost all ground abilities become locked - can't even climb up a ledge at the moment. Taking damage finally unlocks all of Kratos' skills again and lets him kick some ass with a paddle in hands.
So far the only way to fix this glitch is to go sailing again (or retry?). It deserves some more testing, but for that to happen, I'd really need to figure out a consistent setup on how to start it.

0:00 - the basics and where I first stumbled upon this glitch.
0:26 - showing off some moves against enemies with a paddle. Yes, every time Kratos gets hit he reacts as if he was sitting in the boat.
1:41 - questing with paddle in hands.
3:00 - axe recall acts very strangely with paddle in hands. It works normally if you only press the 'recall' input quickly. But if you instead hold the button down, it looks like the game is trying to recall the axe almost every frame. This causes a strange graphical effect and the sound effects overlap so heavily that the audio of the game becomes distorted noise.
(Not on the vid: dying with paddle in hands works normally.)
