You can use a "slightly higher double jump" followed by a Shield Jump to go out of bounds after the final swimming section. Once out of bounds, you can start swimming glitch and sneak on the boat early.

Normally the game would force you to wait 10 something seconds somewhere away from the boat before the path to it opens up... don't know what is the reasoning behind that. So you basically skip that, plus a short cutscene and some navigation. So maybe 15 seconds total of time saved.

Yeah, it's not much, but at least swimming glitch is useful in some form even in this game!

As a side note, I wonder what would happen if you did a swim dash to the boat cutscene while the gate opening cutscene was going on. By all logic, combining two cutscenes might create interesting results...
