You may know the trick called Lenient Air Momentum (LAM) from other God of War-titles already - it's especially important in God of War 1 speedruns.

LAM can be done in GoW 2 as well. If you interrupt air attacks close to ground with a sub-weapon break-out, you get some carry-over air momentum that makes Kratos' next jump more floaty. In theory this should be helpful with any high or long jump that begins from a single jump.

SoD's Piercing Shards seems to be the single best attack for this purpose, as it gives the most LAM.

To make it easier to follow the interrupted air attack with high or long jump motions, it's useful to do this trick with the following input: near ground level with SoD active, press Pause + L1, then R2. This way after you've switched sub-weapon, Kratos starts with the new sub-weapon already active.

I guess LAM still isn't a too critical technique in GoW 2 since the current high and long jump techniques are powerful enough by themselves. But maybe in the future there is a need to get even higher with AQ IJ, and at that point LAM might come in handy.
