Skipping Hercules and the preceding cutscene on New Game.

You usually don't have Whip in NG, but you can do a replacement to Severe Judgment jump using RoS. For example, do the triangle air attack of Blades right after your double jump, followed up by a quick flicking of RoS on and off to gain height. Then be ready to hold L2 down for Bow (to cancel some cooldown) and right analog to Dash on top of the hidden ledge above Hercules doorway. (originally discovered by findlestick)

After that, turn exactly to left. Start Blades Jet Dash. Do all control with the right analog stick: forward dashes to left, sideways dashes to background and so on. You have to go visit the front of the arena out of bounds to make the Hercules fight controller remote appear on the arena. Then just land close to the black button and examine it.

EDIT: using regen magic can disable Rage of Sparta for this part, apparently? But there's a way around it if you start ascension from the left side of the gate and Dash on top of the invisible ledge.
