Hello there, adventurers! Now that Super Final Fight Gold is behind us, it is time to embark on a new journey, back into the medieval ages as we return to a beloved beat 'em up classic, faithfully remastered by ZVitor with a full cast of characters, re-imagined stages and new gimmicks, such as the ability to wield different weapons (with each character having their own proficiency with different ones) and even fight unarmed! I tried my best to show off each weapon and mount at least once, and vary them up throughout the playthrough.

Golden Axe Returns is easily one of ZVitor's best works, and the attention to detail, such as the placement of health pickups on cooking pots, etc. are very nice. The combat does away with the clunkiness that some of the old Golden Axe games had whilst still feeling like a Golden Axe game at heart. There's a few complaints here and there, but it's a fun time!

Here we begin our adventure with the legend himself: Ax Battler. He is easily one of, if not the best character in the game. He just feels so well balanced and able to use almost every weapon with skill, and he has some very fun specials, such as his command grab when unarmed, and his cool sword special.

I actually find the game very hard usually, which is why I play on Easy Mode (and to ensure I can record the full game) but I ended up having probably my best run so far, as it's the first time I did not lose a continue :)

Who should be the next character to bravely hunt down the vicious Hellstrike and reclaim the Golden Axe for the forces of good? Our remaining characters are:
