Goof Troop is an action-adventure game developed by Capcom for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), released in North America in July 1993, in Europe on November 25, 1993, and in Japan on July 22, 1994. Based on the animated television series of the same name, the game allows players to control Goofy and his son Max in both single-player and multiplayer modes.

Set on Spoonerville Island, the game features five diverse areas: a beach, a besieged village, a haunted castle, a cavern, and a pirate ship where Pete and PJ are held captive. Goofy moves slower but deals more damage, while Max is quicker and more agile.

To progress, players must solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and reach the end of each stage to confront a boss. While Goofy and Max cannot directly fight, they can use objects like barrels, bombs, and blocks to overcome foes. Throughout the levels, players can collect fruit for protection, red diamonds for extra lives, and blue diamonds for continues.

In multiplayer mode, if one player loses all lives, they can respawn with three more lives on another screen. However, if both players lose all lives on the same screen and have no continues, the game is over, and they must restart using a password.

To aid their adventure, players can collect items such as grappling hooks to cross gaps, bells to distract enemies, candles to light up dark areas, and keys to unlock doors. Each player can carry one item (two in single-player mode).

The game's story revolves around Goofy and Max setting out to rescue Pete and PJ, who have been mistaken for pirates on a pirate island. The duo faces various challenges, including defeating Keelhaul Pete, the true pirate captain, and saving their friends from danger.

Goof Troop showcases enjoyable cooperative gameplay, engaging puzzles, and charming characters from the beloved animated series, making it a delightful experience for fans of the show and action-adventure game enthusiasts alike.
