Just a quick video to demonstrate that Gothic 3 is not one of those loot-centered RPGs in which the player gets new weapons and armor every five seconds or so. No, any substantial gear upgrades in G3 are likely to be prohibitively expensive and will only be acquired through hard work. There's usually a reputation check involved which means that you can only buy the really powerful stuff if you've finished enough quests and sufficiently increased your standing with that faction.

After many, *many* hours of picking up gold from chests, selling loot and getting quest rewards I've finally amassed close to 300,000 and a 66% reputation among the rebels, which is enough to buy a Paladin's armor from the rebels for roughly 170,000. As a result, my protection against non-magical attacks is doubled, and this should really come in handy during the final part of the game...
