GP-5 filters, Asbestos confirmed
0Asbestos has now been confirmed inside the GP-5/ГП-5 gas mask filters. Asbestos is also in the Soviet/Russian EO-14, EO-16, and EO-18 filters.

If you have any of these filters, don't panic, remove them from the mask and keep them stored in an airtight container. Asbestos is only dangerous if it is disturbed.
If you have used the filter, hopefully no asbestos entered your lungs, you can go to a doctor to have tests carried out if you are concerned, but the asbestos contents of the filter are probably quite small.
