Developed and published by Codemasters in 1987.

This one's really simple to describe: a top-down racing game that was released on budget.

This was one of the first C64 games I owned. I didn't play it much because I was quite young and I just couldn't get to grips with the controls, so I could never make it past the first track. They're not as slick as they could be and, when coupled with tracks where you go under bridges and lose sight of your car, it's difficult to anticipate just how much you need to turn if there is a bend on the other side.

The presentation art work and tracks are nicely drawn, although the racing cars look more like severed fingers than than Formula 1 machines.

The digitised speech effects are really nice, but the car braking effects are terrible!! I don't blame you if you turned the sound down after the first minute of watching...

Enjoy!
