This was a terrible insult to a classic series of 8bit beat em' ups on the C64. While Renegade and Target Renegade were great games, this was just utter tripe.

You're on a mission to fight your way through time to rescue your girlfriend. You'll fight through prehistory, ancient Egypt, Medieval Europe and the future with each stage more mind-numbingly boring the previous one.

The combat is absolutely awful and you can win a lot of the time just by jump-kicking to the right; there's no strategy and little enjoyment to be had from fighting enemies at all. Unfortunately, you're forced to fight since beating enemies recharges your health meter which ticks down over time even if you're not being hit. I think I completed most of the game simply by hitting things with the poorly drawn and animated club!

The sprites are OK but nothing to shout about, whilst the music from Jonathan Dunn is of variable quality; some levels sound good, but others sound kind of scratchy and hard on the ears.

Zzap64 gave this 90%...what on Earth were they thinking?!
