Trashman Longplay (C64) [50 FPS]
Developed by New Generation Software in 1984.
You wouldn't think that a game about emptying rubbish bins could be entertaining, but New Generation Software actually pulled it off.
The objective is to collect bins from each house in the street, carry them to the back of the lorry and dispose of the contents then carry them back to the house. Along the way, the lady of the house invites you in to attend to various errands or asking if you fancy a quick game of Scrabble. It's difficult to work out if these requests are purely innocent cries for help, but you'll have to leave it up to your imagination.
The bonus indicator in the top left of the screen is really a time limit. If it reaches 0 then you lose a life for being slow; lose all your lives and it's game over. For each errand you perform, you increase your bonus timer, so it's important to do as many as possible. If you walk across any lawns, the bonus timer decreases rapidly and any errands on offer at the house will disappear, so stay on the path!
The game may be about collecting rubbish, but it's definitely NOT rubbish.
