GTA III Mobile - DP Conversion in FREE ROAM Using Thieves (NOW PATCHED - Read Description!)
0Back in 2015 I bought GTA III for iOS (No idea what Version as they are not even close to the Versions and Numbers that are released on Android Devices) and when I finished an OLD 100% Save File in which I later redid, I actually was able to use Thieves as a way to convert a handful of my Special Vehicles into DP form in which I didn't get to do during the Story (learned how to do that later). However, in 2016 when I casually tried it again, I learned that it was PATCHED! I asked an Android User at the time in 2015 if they were able to pull it off and that person was able to, all the same as I was able to. Later in 2016, they also said it was patched for Android like I found out for iOS!
Thieves are only walking the streets from 20:00 until 5:00, just so you know!
What I mean by patched is that an Update was released where if you try this, the button to jack the Vehicle back would VANISH, thus you couldn't jack it back from the Thief after it was converted into Ghost form!
Again, not sure of the exact Version for iOS you need, but if you're an Android User, for this to still work, you want to be on Version 1.6 or below. Whatever Patch/Update happened in 2016 is what caused this not to work anymore for both Android and iOS.
While yes, I am using a Controller for the Video, as I already stated and know for a fact, this works with Touch Screen Controls and no Controller. You just need the EARLIER Versions of GTA III on Android or iOS for it to work anymore.
This is why MODERN gaming sucks ass. Despite GTA III being released in 2001, all modern Platforms it's later released to gets Patches/Updates and then harmless stuff like this is no longer working.
With that said, there is a way to counter these garbage Patches/Updates, and it's what I did in my most RECENT and CURRENT, UP TO DATE 100% Save File for iOS. Since using Thieves is patched to convert Vehicles into DP form, you simply just have to use Mission Scripted Passengers in which I shown in this Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfFIHH6xeJQ
I recorded that Video on PS2, but the Method is EXACTLY what you want to do for Android and iOS when the Thieves Method is PATCHED, like it will be for most people. You can easily work toward 100% Completion, obtain the usual 13 Special Vehicles, and convert ALL of them into DP form as you go with Mission Scripted Passengers on Mobile as I did it TWICE, in fact. It's not that hard, but requires planning and knowing of which Missions that exist to use in order to pull it off. You can even pass ALL Missions whilst converting Vehicles into DP form, too. It might even be QUICKER. It's still just nice to be able to do it in Free Roam, so it's a shame it eventually was patched in 2016!
Be careful later in the game if you do this since...Mafia Goons with Shotguns can plague this area, but it's still very much possible and easy in the end.
Oh, and at the end of the Video, I show why you can't just use the classic Method of converting Vehicles into DP form using the Taxi Driver Side Mission. This is Patched on EVERY Version of GTA III for Android and iOS. 1.00, whatever. Doesn't matter. If it's Mobile, it's not working, period. You can hold Taxi Driver, but when you try and enter another Vehicle, it's just automatically canceled unlike every other Platform. Lame. Quit patching stuff!
And no, using Hookers doesn't work, as they immediately exit your Vehicle and walk away when you exit and try and enter again at the Crusher.
