Short clip of when I earned the Platinum Trophy in GTA IV on Playstation 3. Read more...

I saved a simple but, really long trophy (Wanted; where you must "You achieved the highest rank possible in multiplayer.") for last so I could record it on my GS4.

This was one of my 1st games for PS3 and "Off the boat" was my 1st trophy ever I came into this game right off of San Andreas and i'm not gonna lie... I hated it. To this day, i'm still feeling let down by this title. Maybe it was due to such high hopes from my previous GTA experiences, IDK.

The story in this is pretty entertaining. Niko is truly a bad-ass character and Roman adds a nice whiny sidekick-like role. You can't say there isn't a crap-ton of stuff to do in this game... the story alone (skipping all side missions and blazing straight through it) takes 10+ hours. Add a good 20+ on top of that for the remaining single player trophies and you've got a hell of a lot of entertainment for its value. My issues with this game are mainly in the controls (which are not intuitive IMO) and the massive amount of fun add-on content that was removed from R*'s previous GTA title. I missed the days of CJ going to the gym or puking his guts out from eating too many Burgershot sliders.

The multiplayer is just a massive grind and mostly irritating. If boosted, none of the trophies are difficult (except "Fly the co-op") but, definitely take some dedication and time. "Wanted" is plain stupid; this trophy alone took way too many hours of just mindless grinding. If you don't mind utilizing in-game glitches and/or boosting, I would highly recommend using the "Sniper Glitch" in Bomb da Base II as it will drastically increase how quickly you earn money toward level 10. On a side note... i'm a little irritated by the fact that the MP leveling ladder is so stacked to make you think you are getting somewhere. You get all the way to level 9 by the time you hit $2.5 million and falsely think that you are almost there when in reality you are only 1/2 way there, grrr.

There are 2 DLC packs for this game and I thought both were excellent addons. They uniquely intertwined with the base game's story and allowed you to see and play from different angles. There were several instances in both DLCs where you came across Niko and the gang. I thoroughly enjoyed both DLCs (probably more so than the base game, lol). Both offer a massive amount of gameplay and challenge... so if you are a completionist, there are many hours of play to be had; in other words, I think they are worth their respective asking prices.

I'd like to thank my fellow gamers (whom I now consider friends). These guys really are an excellent group. We've shared many frustrations, laughs, fails, wins, and good times. These guys made this game enjoyable and counter-acted the disappointment from the single player that I had. Cheers fellas
