GTA SA Tips and Tricks: How to Obtain Barracks in the Beginning and LS Impound
In this Video, I show how to obtain the Barracks in the beginning of the game and using the SF to LS Undrowning Zone to get it back to Los Santos to save it in the Impound.
Make note that I never before attempted to obtain this Barracks before today and I was able to obtain it second try. I don't know, but PS2 is pretty damn dark and I can't see under the water at all like I was able to on my old PS3. Pretty strange. Being able to actually see when you drive back to Los Santos under the water makes it that much easier and less damage on your Vehicle.
Usually, the Barracks will never be seen in the game unless you steal one from the Naval Base in San Fierro, Area 69 in the Desert, or from a 6 Star Wanted Level which is not possible at this stage of the game since only a 4 Star Wanted Level is possible in the beginning. However, obtaining one in the beginning of the game like this will give you the ability to have an EP/FP Barracks in your Save! I personally never had an EP/FP Barracks in any one of my Save Files before, but it was pretty cool obtaining this. I will likely make a Video on the Police Maverick and News Chopper tomorrow for those of you who want to know how to get them and storing them, etc. Those are Vehicles I also never obtained before and had as EP/FP in any of my Saves before, either.
***PS2 Users - jam8tone made an excellent and detailed Video about Impounds and maximizing Storage Space in the beginning, however, he left out the major factor that Impounds work DIFFERENTLY depending in your Platform! For instance, on PC, you do NOT NEED TO look at the Impound Zone when walking/running/driving into the Impound to get a Vehicle. Xbox works the same and so does Mobile, but on PS2/3/4, you absolutely MUST keep the camera on the area of where your impounded Vehicles spawn or else they will NEVER BE THERE! It takes so practice with the camera but you'll get used to it with practice. Leaving the Impound also has its set of "Rules" that you must follow in order to maintain your Vehicles, too! Using Impounds are for the advanced players who want to maximize space and try and obtain as many Special Vehicles as they can and more importantly, in the SAME Save.
There is an Impound in Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas and each one can store *THREE* Vehicles each unlike each Safehouse Garage being able to store *FOUR* Vehicles each. Each Impound in SA has quirks and specific "Rules" to follow and Platform-Dependent on how to enter and exit them. You can AUTO-IMPOUND only to Los Santos and Las Venturas Impound and I show how to do that in this Video for Los Santos, but manually taking them in there can be done, as well and what you MUST do for the San Fierro Impound. I personally don't mind using the Los Santos and Las Venturas Impounds when assembling Saves, but I never before have tried using the San Fierro Impound since it's the most complicated, especially for PS2 Players.
Now, you obviously can't have EVERY VEHICLE in the SAME Save that you could possibly dream about, but there is many that you can have in EP/FP form in the beginning AS WELL AS obtaining all that exist in the Los Santos Story Missions. You may have to make some sacrifices. In my opinion (other than the Seasparrow), having any EP/FP Aircraft is sort of pointless, so I prefer EP/FP Vehicles like Cars/Trucks/Vans/Motorcycles.
I've seen a lot of other people who assembled Saves have an EP/FP Police Maverick, EP/FP News Chopper, and EP/FP Raindance in the Los Santos Impound and then the EP/FP Leviathan, EP/FP Hydra, and EP/FP Rustler in the San Fierro Impound. However, that was then, this is now. If you obtain the AP Packer from "Just Business," it absolutely MUST go into the Los Santos Impound and that Special Vehicle was not known at the time when those other people assembled their Saves, thus they missed it, but instead have some other EP/FP Aircraft. I find the AP Packer more important and if you really try to maximize space, you'll get more Land Vehicles and use Doherty early as well as LS/SV/LV Impounds. It's the only way to reach 69 or more Special Vehicles. I obtained 69 of them in my 1st 100% Save File which you can see here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPMmFnZHh2s
The maximum you can store in SA would be 77, however, I did not use 1 space in Las Venturas within a Safehouse Garage. I also did not use 1 space in the Los Santos Impound and had NOTHING AT ALL in both the San Fierro and Las Venturas Impound. I used the Las Venturas Impound DURING the actual Playthrough, though, since I had so many Vehicles in the beginning, that I was running out of space and took the AP Sultan there early. Don't worry, I will show the LS to LV Undrowning Zone soon enough which is used to get Vehicles from Los Santos to Las Venturas to store in that Impound.
